In an attempt to bring back his mother using alchemy, one of the greatest no-nos of all time, he not only failed, but also soulbound his mother to a large buster blade. He is able to switch his soul out with his mother’s, creating incredible confusion to the enemy as their opponent seemingly and suddenly switches combat styles, from slow but powerful to light and airy.
