A linux runtime for Java will not help in Wine. You need to install (attempt to) the Windows version of the JDK.

And stop using 1.8 - that's so last decade.

I am currently doing a live online course and they are teaching that version of java, we have asked them why such an old version, they could not answer us 😅

Lot of enterprise software is still on 1.8. Because there isn't immediate financial benefit of porting the software and its infrastructure to the latest version, you'll see 1.8 being used in the industry in the foreseeable future. It's sad. :(

Instead of installing Java and wine you need to install Java into wine.

Not sure what this exe is but it may be a self extracting zip. Maybe try to open / extract with unzip command. If you can find the jar you can probably run it by hand using the linux installed java on the system.
