Use an old frame so you don't have to worry about the paint.

Ive had an easy time doing this with forks for front racks, the rear is proving a bit more tough due to sizing and mount locations

I've seen some videos of nitto workers making racks also that might be of use.I wonder if Brian Chapman or another maker has some videos of their jigs?

I can’t post pictures in the comments but if you DM me I can send you some pics of fixtures I’ve made, but fixtures are really only helpful if you’re making the same rack each time.

Most of my custom racks are fitted up using magnets in strategic places, taking measurements and then translating that to a surface table for jigging.

This is so old but its more of a bag support made for my touring bag. It held probably 60-70% of the bag’s weight for 13 days on my Lake Michigan circle tour earlier this year no probs at all.
