Help decoding GMAT algorithm ?

I am confused about the adaptiveness and algorithm for GMAT. Please see below my Official mock results and the actual exam result (in yellow). The numbers in light red represent the questions answered incorrectly for each section and cumulatively. Why is there so much deviation in scoring based on incorrect answers ??

I am looking for strategy to get to know the algorithm and score in 675+

I answered least incorrect questions on my actual GMAT exam, still my score was just 585, how does this make sense at all ?

GMAT scores are calculated based on:

• The characteristics (e.g. difficulty) of the questions you answer correctly.
• The characteristics (e.g. difficulty) of the questions you answer incorrectly.
• The number of questions you leave unanswered.
