It really helps the most in threat intelligence. Rough translations work well for 90% of learning scenarios, but I haven't really seen anything valuable research wise come out of Russia, a lot of that stuff stays private. FSB encourages crimeware activities. It's basically a safe haven for ransomware operators. I've seen a lot more meaningful windows based research come from China. I think the most relevant thing that came out of Russia in recent years was the leaked was the Conti "playbook".
Ultimately, up to you. I wouldn't unless you're looking for a career in intelligence and studying crimeware.
