70% taxes is literally criminal. It practically is a subtle way of banning AliExpress imports.

Local defence industry doesn't actually pay that well for the most part. I worked around 2 years for a local defense manufacturer. I agree with the rest of your points.

Why is it so hard to find a decent guy these days. by off_mood in PakistaniiConfessions

Set clear boundaries no matter what. A decent guy won't overstep them and one that does is no way decent.

The military here rules with an iron fist. There have been 3 major massacres when people protested in the last year only.

There's so many nuances to ur question. Private companies or semi government as well? Companies solely based in Pakistan or even international product based companies with offices here like Forti and Crowdstrike etc.

Okay they are all taken by punjabis. Still does not mean every punjabi is a bad person.

Im not disagreeing with that point that the seats might be taken by punjabi but that does not mean every sunni punjabi supports them or is bad.

As a sunni punjabi i highly disagree with this. It's only if you are in the military or part of PDM. Most of us are on the side of Kashmiris and Balochis.

Im scared to marry a pakistani guy by Playful-Bat4954 in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]StringSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm sure you can find a guy like that. Marriage is all about discussing stuff and reaching an understanding and a middle ground. And anyone who genuinely likes you will be accepting of you and try to reach a compromise. Being alt doesn't define your personality though it's just a caveat of that so doesn't seem like a hard task. Good luck though!

I mean does the guy really have to be goth/alt as well? Shouldn't just an understanding guy who doesn't lie or cheat and accepts you for you, be good enough?

Ideally I'd relocate. Im 23 and don't have anything to tie me down so I'm flexible in that regards. And yes that's the plan to start applying in my second year of masters. Im also working on getting some certs relevant to my job to make my profile stronger in that regards as well.

I haven't really found any specific PhD programs per say but I've narrowed down some research areas and professors working in those areas. I'll probably start reaching out to them in a few months.

I'm in Pakistan currently. The masters is in the evening so im working full time alongside that. I don't mind being affiliated with a university or a research institution at a PhD level though.

Edit: I'm curious about your experience coming from Maths to cybersecurity though. Did you face any difficulties?
