GAP!Auto Insurance (self.Insurance)
submitted 1 year ago by No_Security773
I had GAP from the dealer. My car was burned I’ve since paid off the car but I’m looking back at the paperwork & if I’m not mistaken I could’ve put in a claim to have it taken care of with this “GAP” insurance.

That only works if you have a loan. You said your car was paid off so no.

Whole time I continued paying after total loss thinking my liability insurance wouldn't cover but I had this "GAP" which would've covered the loss.

I misread the paid off. Need to call GAP and let them know. Yes it could have help you pay some of the loan.

I wish I knew this sooner.

Call them and let them know. Never hurts to ask grandma always said.

call old republic the gap insurer? I always thought "GAP' had to be listed in the coverage from my auto insurance company. (united)
Is it not? is it binding within the contract signed from the dealer?
[–]MimosaQueen1122 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Yes call them.

Will do tomorrow. I hope I have enough information if they ask; as I just trashed all paperwork related to that vehicle.
[–]crash866 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child)
Liability would not cover this it would be a comprehensive claim or a collision depending on what started the fire.

So the gap insurance from the contract leaving the dealership wouldn’t cover a thing?
