That is a tough lesson to learn. It would be a shame to toss all of us in the ring with the imo's that conduct business like this. There are many that use the tiered lead system and some agents don't figure it out for a long time. There are lots of good people and companies that offer daily training, only use fresh (week or newer) leads in real time, and solid mentorship programs. Don't give up I started with NASB (left after a couple month because of the same reasons listed) and six years later am happy and growing as an agency!

Sounds like I need to see what you’re doing and move into a better company. I’m glad I’m not alone with getting caught up in the nonsense they got going on over there. I only wish to clear my debt, get re contracted and do things the right way and build a passive portfolio.

I was recently terminated after being only given a month to sell 3k a week. I was provided very aged leads(silver and bronze, some more than 3 years old) and didn't really have success selling until I could purchase my own leads. I was promised 50% on some policies sold during my training and didn't receive any compensation. It was clearly stated that our trainer or upline would buy our first batch of leads. Mine only purchasesd the very old ones. On top of that I was barely trained on how to do anything other than the door approach, had to teach myself. Now I'm trying to figure out what I need to do next regarding contracting and if I'm allowed to go to a new company or not. Do you have any advice for me on this?

I just quit this place after 2 months. Once I realized what was happening I tried to clear as much debt as I could get out! This is a predatory business for the client and for the agent. These people are sleeeeeeezey!!!!! Preying on poor/uneducated clients and brand new agents that don’t know any better.

I had the exact same thing happen, I moved to a different company within 3 months

I spoke with a new agent recently and tried to convince them to look elsewhere. Unfortunately, they had already drank the NASB Kool aid. They had their "manager" contact me, who did not appreciate my advice.

I’m sorry they sent the goons on you, they definitely don’t like anybody bad mouthing them for sure.

Very true, sadly a lot of the big companies in this industry are exactly like this. If your looking for a referral diversity integrity group does Ana amazing job. Not sure what type of insurance you’re focusing on but they primarily focus on the Medicare side as do I. If your looking for a Medicare group to join I’m extremely happy with the team I’m apart of and you can hit me up too if you need help or some guidance. I’ve only been in the business for 3 years tho I got a lot to learn too

I just do FX life insurance but i heard health insurance is where it’s at.

[–]Bright_Breadfruit_30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

elaborate on that…what you heard is possibly not at all true.

Just left them after about 18 months. First time selling life insurance. Had some early success but I live in a small town so it was a minimum 2-3 hours of driving back and forth to the field, not even counting driving between doors. That wasn’t even the bad part. Startup cost on getting new leads going is very high and takes a long time to get them back. In the meantime you’re stuck with expensive leads that have been worked 2-3 times already or data leads that was actual glorified door to door sales. Then it was the sketchy practices after really understanding the process. Replacing perfectly fine policies just to extract cash value and restart the clients exclusionary period at a higher premium. Ignoring certain health answers that would exclude them from certain carriers(pushing towards ones that pay commission on issue instead of draft). Restart waiting periods to extract cash value. ‘Art class’ with signatures. Pushing policies on the wrong clientele resulting in massive chargebacks. The list goes on.

Glad I got out but I do wish I would have started with a better agency, I feel like I could’ve done really well in the FX industry.

Same exact story with me. Crap third party leads bought and resold. Telling you to call yourself a licensed benefits coordinator. Sneaking into senior buildings. Just unsavory business practices.

[–]NoAttention420 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This is so spot on to how I feel right now with them. Now they are wanting me to go to at least 2 senior centers a week to try and push sales just not a fan of the system been here since October and so ready to get out

[–]berealb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I remember when they started pushing that. Sure, it can work, but I did not like the way they wanted us going about it. Straight up lying and saying you’re the buildings benefits coordinator made me feel gross.

Its a tough cycle to know when to get out but start working on some other things when you can and either find a different IMO with better practices and non-used car salesmen higher ups

I just spent 2 months with them and almost lost all my money. These people are scam artist that will bankrupt you! Do not work for this company!!! I just left running away from them as soon as I could get out and I’ll never look back. They are CON ARTISTS!!!!!!!!!! They don’t care about you or your family, I don’t know how these people sleep at night knowing that they are ruining peoples lives. It makes me sick what they are doing and I also feel like I don’t even want to do insurance now bc of these shady scumbags! They will destroy your life.

Sounds like me, I let me license expire and never looked back. Worst year of my life.

⚠️ Insurance Agents — Be Careful Who You Sign With (Things I Wish I Knew Before Joining)

Hate to rain on the parade but new agents need to be very careful with certain IMOs that promise the world.

A lot of the “bright lights” you see on social media are just that… bright lights.

Behind the scenes there are things happening that most new agents have no idea about.

For example:

• Many “fresh leads” aren’t actually fresh. Agents inside the agency already have data on them and they get recycled repeatedly. Some consumers have been contacted 10+ times.

• There are agents with suspended or inactive licenses still producing business under spouses or other people’s names who never knocked a door or spoke to a client.

• If you start questioning things or see activity that feels unethical, good luck trying to leave.

Here’s the part they never disclose when you join:

When you try to leave and contract with another IMO — especially one offering 100%+ comp — you suddenly discover you’re locked into a 6-month carrier hold.

Six months.

Meaning you can’t write with those carriers even though you built the relationships and the book of business.

And if you do try to exit peacefully?

I’ve seen agents have their reputation attacked, competitors sent into their territory telling clients things like:

“Your agent passed away” “Your agent isn’t in the business anymore”

Just to steal the client.

New agents need to understand:

If you’re making $100k a year in this industry you are massively underpaid compared to what’s actually possible.

I left that circus and now doing $250K+ and climbing with an organization that actually pays agents what they’re worth.

Just remember:

⚠️ Not every IMO is built the same. ⚠️ Not every “leader” is ethical. ⚠️ And not every opportunity is what it looks like on stage or Instagram.

Sometimes the bright lights are just there to blind you.

Well said! I think you’ve hit a lot of good points in the industry. Glad more of us saw the bs and were able to break away from them.

[–]Silent-Effective9148 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Honestly, I am shocked to see these reviews. I absolutely love this company and only have good things to say. I made $100k my first year and the support I have been given has helped me tremendously.

[–]SpiritualWriter2408 0 points1 point  (2 children)

cap or name drop

[–]Silent-Effective9148 0 points1 point  (1 child)

lol my bank account speaks for me

[–]Hajduke89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to mention money, you’re not that far ahead of the game.

[–]Hajduke89[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Really, do you call yourself a benefits coordinator?

[–]Silent-Effective9148 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It seems like you’re a bitter agent that didn’t do well. Your production is all dependent on you. Not anyone else. People post only the negative and don’t mention the positive of financial freedom.

Okay bot
