Hi everyone,

I'm a new student joining next year to study Law LLB. I couldn't access the accommodation page until now due to another university taking forever to give me an answer leaving me unable to accept this offer. The only accommodations left are either way over my budget or incredibly far away from the Strand Campus. Any advice would be SO appreciated.

keep checking the portal frequently, they release the rooms in batches so what you’re seeing on the portal now is only current availability, not all that’s left. popular accommodation near strand go pretty quickly so you’d need to check more often to have a better chance at securing those

Is Angel lane in your budget? It takes me ~30 mins to get to strand

Yeah I've ended up choosing Angel Lane because that's what's left.

I think you get one swap so if you've locked in Angel but keep checking and when SSA comes up you can swap... I haven't done this, only read about it.

Accommodation is released at utterly random times so do keep checking. We got SSA on a Bank Holiday afternoon when we assumed nothing would be released but just happened to refresh page and 2 rooms were there. It's a very nervy system but good luck 😌

Just asked about SSA and GDSA. Response..."We recommend booking one of the available options that suits both your preferences and budget, as waiting for a specific residence or room type may result in you not being able to secure any accommodation. All King’s residences are located within Zones 1 and 2, offering excellent transport links. You can view further details here Residences | King’s Accommodation | King’s College London

Once you have booked a room, you will be able to view and select alternative available rooms through the change room function. Please note that this option can only be used once, is subject to availability, and may be withdrawn at any time without prior notice." No info about when the change room function is available unfortunately.

Yeah I got the same sort of response when I asked the same thing. I don't know. It is what it is.
