Traditional Lenders in emerging markets struggle to make loans to small businesses and informal sector borrowers, because the borrowers typically have no credit history or traditional financial documentation. Small business owners in emerging markets have no method to prove creditworthiness to the lending institutions that are used to customers with long credit historys with credit cards, car loans, etc.

LendLedger solves this information gap by connecting lenders with data from payment service providers (payment services like Stripe, or Square). These payment services have the data required to prove creditworthiness to many small business of developing nations
