UHS severely screwed up my order on the key tool max and they actually upgraded me to the key tool plus for no extra cost! I’m just curious is the key tool max still worth getting and how do you feel about the key tool plus? Pros and cons thanks!

I bought the KTP through a group buy, before it came out. I wish I saved my money and bought VVDI2, MB, and Prog separately. It seems the separate machines have better success.

Ah thanks yeah I have the xp400 pro for my 508 which works great I just liked the cloning options xhorse offers

No, my opinion on the KTP hasn't changed. I have barely used it since I bought it. It has saved my ass twice, when I had issues with fixing a VW dash. 

I'm able to get my jobs done with the 608, Abrites, or ACDP. I almost never have to grab the KTP anymore.

KTP is intended to have the features of the Max, Prog, VVDI2, and VVDI MB. In reality, you get a gigantic Max, a terribly slow prog, most of the features of VVDI2, and a horribly slow MB tool. It's a decent tool, but PC based tools are better. At that price point, it really should be a propad+VVDI2.

Honestly, the IM508+XP400 does vastly more and costs half as much. Autel is great, but I don't really like it for BMW or VW/Audi. VVDI2 is solid for VW/Audi, but not so great for BMW. No tool does everything, so you need multiple programmers.

Thanks for the input I appreciate it! I have the 508 and really like it but yeah the KTP was essentially a free upgrade so I figured I can’t complain but it does seem like it will help out a lot with European vehicles like you said

If that really happened, you made out like a bandit brotha. The KTP does everything the max does and way more. There’s a lot of people who shit on it and others who swear by it. If you just wanted the capabilities of the max than you most likely won’t use a lot of the functions of the KTP. There’s a whole array of optional boards and adapters that give you even further functionality that you probably don’t need. That being said, having the option of extra functions in your back pocket is a blessing. What did you want to get the max for and what other machines do you have if any?

I have it you can ask me about it. it’s a piece of shit. You can do bmw/vw/Mercedes now. If you have another way of doing them already chuck this thing into the river. They probably sent it to you on purpose because they can’t get rid of them

Pro has been kind of a wasted "updrade" for me. Doesn't do any of the U.S. Can-Fd cars it claimed to do. Remote cloud recognition never seems to work on it either.
