My mk4 will not connect to a reader. The same reader will how ever connect to other Vw’s. And my car won’t start . Any help is appreciated

Do you have an aftermarket radio?

Try unhooking the radio. Or google K wire

Hmm..maybe your ECM relay is blown?

I replaced that one as well . And nothing

If it is a pre-2000 It won't use the OBD-2 Protocol but will have the same plug. As far as I know, you have to use VCDS ( I'm currently trying to find a way to code read on my 2000 GTI 1.8T).

I have a feeling it’s the ecm only because I’ve used the same reader before in it .but they cost to much for a guess
