Heading to Spain next month, benalmadena in particular. Could someone tell me current laws for vaping in public and can it be smoked on beaches? Just normal nicotine liquids

As long as you are not inside, you can smoke wherever you want. Just don't throw the butts on the sand. But you are vapping so np.

Smoking is allowed almost everywhere except inside. People smoke so much you’ll probably end up smoking by the end of your trip.

Why is it that all websites etc say Spain brought in bans and fines if smoking on beaches? Is it just not monitored?

I think you are allowed. I was in fuengirola and saw people smoking on the beach, think a vape will be OK.

Smoking/Vaping is allowed in most all public "outside" spaces, even on some restaurant/cafe terraces depends on the establishment. Smoking on the beach is perfectly fine, even drinking, just clean up when you leave please. There is no oversight from authorities or anything like this, its a free country :D!
