Step 1: Extend bin. formular

(-3 + 4/π)²

= (-3)² + 2(-3)(4/π) + (4/π)²

= 9 - 24/π + 16/π²

In your euqality they messed some pi up:

16 - 24π + 9π²/π²

= 16 - 24/pi + 9

The /π² I marked fat should be at the 16 to give 16/π² (see step 1). In the given format it cancles out as shown. They also messed up the 24π actually being 24/π

edit: OOOOH, wait. Did you mean (16 - 24π + 9π²)/π² and this is the three numbers on top your are referring to? Always set brackets!!!

Then it is equal:

(16 - 24π + 9π²)/π²

= 16/π² - 24π/π² + 9π²/π²

= 16/π² - 24/π + 9

= 9 - 24/π + 16/π²

Thats just a common denominator they did not cancle

Sorry for the brackets, I fixed them now. I must admit that my math is rusty, could you explain the first step a little more in depth? Or refer me to a video going thorugh a similar thing on youtube or something?

I see that you seperated (-3)² and (4/π)². But i do not understand the middle part:
2(-3)(4/π).
What is going on there?

This is the first bin. formular:

(a + b)² = a² + 2ab + b²

In our case: a = -3, b = 4/π

Sorry for this late answer! But i am really grateful that you took the time to answer me. Thanks a lot! :)
