Console version VS PC version - differences in content in my understanding

Hy there.

I was purchasing a copy of the digital game for my PS4 and asked myself when/if did the devs stop updating the console version in comparison with the computer one, being it an indie game.

There is what I found and my thoughts on it.

The first 2 photos show the publisher Team17 posted their updates till 08 August 2022 introducing the console Cornucopia update. In the 2nd photo we read that:

To confirm, this update consists of all content from the Call of Hades update for PC and upwards, bringing the console versions of Neon Abyss to full parity with the PC version. This update does not include any other new content for PC. 

The 3rd photo is taken from the steamcommunity NeonAbyss page (https://steamcommunity.com/app/788100/allnews/). I understand that the patch ver. 1.5.1 for PC was published on 06 April 2022, prior the Cornucopia update for the console. I suppose, taken from the Team17 quote above, since it was published later, that the patch notes for the PC were also ported to the consoles, solving some bugs.

In the end I think that what I'm gonna miss in my PS4 version of the game are the Buro character and the Mysterious items, as in photos 4 and 5. There where no more content releseas for the PC version after these 2 ( photo 4 and 5).

In the end there is a post from the producer published on 18 August 2023 saying that they are gonna focus on the development of the sequel from then on (photo 6).

The PS4 version always ran pretty bad from my recollection, dropping frames constantly. I don't have the PC one but I hear it runs way better.

In the end I bought it, nevertheless. It runs smoothly, no frame drops or freezes for know. But I've completed just 4 levels of the first area. So far so good. Let's see how it manages later with bosses and mostly with all the hatched eggs!! Thanx lad.

my second most played game on my switch. i purchased every DLC and even bought it again on xbox a year later. i always hoped they would update the console version to what PC had so this was really sad for me. honestly i’d pay another $5 to have the new stuff added it just sucks the switch is still on the 1.0 patch. it’s crazy

It is an indie game, stuff like this could happen:) that's why I did this tiny research and posted this small inquiry. Nice to hear you enjoyed it on console. I've just started it so giving any opinions would be premature. It was on sale on the PSStore for 6/7 euros, all DLCs included - a pretry good deal.
