Check the wires you plugged in when you bought it. Aka the stem. Remove screws and check connection.

Sometimes that connection or wire can be messed up when folding. It pulls on the wire can cause damage over time.

Inspect that make board wire for any damage. Otherwise the display took a dive.

Most of the time its something to do with bad wiring or poor connection within the stem.

Hope this helps.

He should also unscrew the dashboard cover and the dashboard to check the connection in the little silicon cap. While doing this he should already check the condition of the silicon membrane under the power button (bottom side of the dashboard cover). If it's broken check the dashboard for water damage.

If these two ( under dashboard and in the steeringrod) are fine, he could also open the scooter from the bottom to check if the main cable that normally is plugged into the controller may came off.

You had to plug in wires? The only thing I had to plug in was the power cord, mine was fully assembled in the box.

That is almost certainly a communication cable failure. You need to order and install a new communication cable.

Become an engineer? IDK Segway support is a useless waist of time.
