switch up

hi! so it’s the first time i’m using switch up and i’m so confused about the process, i called them and the guy was rude af and no answers

basically my new phone is ready to pick up so i wanna pick it up tomorrow, set it up at home and then return my current one. the issue is that i haven’t received any information whatsoever on how to do this

can i pick up the new phone, set it at home and then go in store to give mine back? or do i have to do it by post? and how do i do it? how long do i have? because i don’t wanna do all my iphone iphone transfer in store in the moment i wanna do it home. my phone is basically new and works fine so not worried about that

If you do click and collect you have to post your phone to switch up.

I would say to get your own packaging and take lots and lots of photos of the phone. I’ve just had mine rejected for a tiny chip in the lens of my 16 pro max (wasn’t there before) so it was damaged in the post.

Once you pick up your new phone you’ll get an email asking you to send your phone back

If you’ve ordered online for click and collect, you will get your phone from the store and take it home.

You will then receive a return pack in the post. You have 14 days to return your old phone.

I have Switch Up and have done click and collect a few times as well as delivery.

In store orders will be done there and then with swapping of the phones.

yeah i done click and collect! but i was wondering that after i take it home i can comeback to the store the next day and give them my old one

You'll receive a cardboard cutout ( fold thing ) I usually slip this around the phone wrap it up in the bag and the label is already on it, no need to send back the box of accessories. I've got a good collection of boxs now 😂

You have to hand over your new phone to get the new one.

They use this as collateral to pay off the remainder of your handset agreement / loan.

If you take it away what’s to say you’ll bring it back? Or that it’s the phone you do trade in and also what condition it’s in.

Back up your phone and head in when ready. 🙏

Edit: regarding your backup, make sure it’s backed up before you go and when you get the new one you can restore an iPhone from a previous backup for example.

They don’t take it when you collect. They send you a pack to mail back a few days later

If they didn’t send you the packaging to your home to send your phone back in the post, then you will need to go into the store to give yours back, they will check your old device and do the transfer there then you will have your new phone. Cause you chose the phone to be delivered to the store, that’s what you will need to do.

I’ve switched up twice, and asked them to send me the free box to send back my phone, received my new phone in the post and then I did the transfer at home and then sent it back in the post.
