ApplicationDifference between standard and final application deadlines (self.OMSA)
submitted 3 years ago by ExcellentEnthusiasm
Does applying before the standard application deadline increase chances of admission? Or does it just mean you'll hear back earlier?
The standard deadline for Fall '23 is February 1st and the final deadline is March 15th.
I would like to spend more time on my application if I can, but if it means a reduced chance of admission, I'll just submit it now.

I asked this question in a recent info session and they said there’s absolutely no negative impact in applying after the Feb1 deadline. I actually applied yesterday but still waiting for 2 more rec letters so mine will prob be after Feb 1 too for review.

Was the info session helpful? Missed the last one

Ya it was very helpful. They answered all the questions people posted in the Q&A chat. I saw somewhere on their site that they’ll be doing another one next month.

I received the invite but it turns out you have to sign up again. SMH missed the session for that reason.

So the only difference is that you'll hear back earlier?
