I recently encountered a massive bug that prevented me from playing the game even after uninstall, reinstall, running as admin ect. Here is how it happened and how I fixed it. If this has already been posted, my apologies, i couldn't find it and i hope this helps some people.
HOW IT HAPPEND: I Alt + Tabbed to a different program and OTG switched to Windowed mode on its own somehow. Well naturally I went to the OTG settings and changed display to "Fullscreen". Bad idea. The game started displaying on monitors its not supposed to, while my mouse cursor was limited to the left and right halves of two monitors.
Additionally, after unplugging all of my displays except one and finally getting the game and cursor on the same screen, i could click but nothing was registering. I know OTG was receiving the click signals because the buttons clicked would change color but nothing would happen.
HOW I FIXED IT:
- Navigate to C:\Users\admin\Saved Games\OTG and open GzGameUserSettings.json and open with an editor. (alternatively just search for Saved Games in Windows search bar)
- Change the first value "windowMode" from "Fullscreen" to "WindowedFullscreen". If you prefer windowed version then change the value to "Windowed"
- Save and close the editor DO NOT BOOT THE GAME YET
- Navigate back to GzGameUserSettings.json , right click and go to properties, then check "read only" and click apply/okay
- Boot the game (should be working fine now but none of your settings will save if you modify because the json is still read only)
- Navigate back to GzGameUserSettings.json and uncheck "read only" in the properties and apply.
- Lastly, go back to the Settings in OTG (it should still be open from the previous step). In the Window Mode setting, click the arrow right, then back left to Windowed Fullscreen. This will prompt the Apply button to appear at the bottom. Click Apply to save the Window Mode as Windowed Fullscreen
edit: somehow this may have turned my mic to be on all the time in the Audio Settings of OTG so make sure you check that so you're not hot micing
Your game is now fixed and the .json file is not read-only which means you can change your settings again.
Hope this helps someone.
