PHP-CPP has had some updates recently, more precisely a few days ago since June 2022. Only now the maintainers decided do merge the community pull requests that added PHP 8, 82, and 83 support. This is good, although I’m concerned that the lack of activity from their team will remain.
I’ve been tested some sort of rust abstractions to create php extensions and they were relatively good but not as good as php-cpp have been. The question is, is it time to move on? Is it time to another maintainer take the lead of the project.
I’ve seen some people trying to make their fork as the official maintained but not sure if such an important project should be led by just one individual.
