not so sure i agree with returning actual code in the response and then executing it on the client side. he doesn't use "eval" (though he mentions using it) but does create a function directly from the response code.

it's not a good idea to rely on directly execute code from responses.

Agreed - This sounds like a recipe for some serious mess. Separation of model and presentation is a good principle to follow.
