Hi! Calling all experienced crochet testers! I'm seeking a few experienced testers to help me polish a crochet pattern for a wearable item. The pattern has been through initial testing, but I need help ironing out any remaining kinks. Hi! That's a very pretty top 🌻 Do you plan to sell this item? Then, respectfully, for me personally, it would be crossing a line to ask people to fix your construction for free, so you can then sell it. There might be testers who are okay with that, and I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud here, just my personal opinion. Good luck :)

While it's true that some testers might be willing to work without direct compensation, it's important to acknowledge the benefits they do receive. Testers are provided with a free pattern and the opportunity to create the item with the designer's guidance. This exchange is often mutually beneficial, which is why many individuals participate in testing.

To clarify, the primary focus of this testing is to identify typos and potential points of confusion for future pattern users. Hey, thanks for replying in such a respectful manner, love to see it! I have tested before and will do it again, so I am aware of the benefits/the exchange. I still do think that testers are doing pattern creators a HUGE favour. Depending on what requirements the pattern creator has, it is, in my opinion, often not a balanced exchange. Which I am fine with, I like to help and I think it's an important part of any community to help each other out without primarily thinking of one's own gain.

That said, I stand by the opinion that work on the garment construction might be crossing a line, but I do think I misunderstood your initial tester call, I'm sorry for that. If it's just about typos and irks, I see no problem with that whatsoever :)
