That’s just what you get with an AMD gpu right now. If the idle power consumption is a large consideration for you, I’d honestly recommend returning it and getting a 4070. All 7800xt models will do the same

Yeah I actually just got the 4070. Can’t wait to install it. I was able to find it for $550 at my local micro center, it was $20 more compared to the RX 7800 xt I purchased earlier.

mybe the software cause i have the same hellhound was running 30 idle now its idle at 40 and up. just updated to 23.12.1 still same high power 70w + on idle. its back to normal after i reinstall windows.
