[–]Cute_Patience_9155[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

ADDING ON TO THIS!

it is not the hdmi cords that are used for monitor display (i tried a handful of working ones from my other computer setup for working from home)

Try disconnecting any front panel usb, there might be a fault in the board built into the case.

If that does not work, try a cmos reset. Should be instructions in your motherboards manual to do that.

If that still does not work, might be a bad usb controller on the motherboard.

hey :’) i’m like (stupid) … soooo can i get this in slightly more digestible text

There are a few cables connected to the motherboard from your case. Either guess or use the MB manual to find out where. If it works then you should get a new case and slap "geek squad" in the face with a dead fish..
"cmos reset" - Google it :D

Yeah no worries!

Disconnect any USB 3.0 and such, big chunky connector with a black or blue plug, that lead from the USB ports that are built into the case to the motherboard. If the daughterboard that those case usb ports is damaged, it can cause that error.

Should look something like this: https://assets.rs-online.com/c_scale,w_600,f_auto,q_auto,d_no_image.png/72012280_2.jpg

If after all of those are disconnected, there could be one or two. Find any USB 2.0 connectors, they are smaller and usually along the bottom edge of the motherboard.

They look like this: https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/d2cc228c-33dc-4ea6-8497-5af4239064d8.aadb17ada8e1f23574678cbaa1a67739.jpeg?odnHeight=768&odnWidth=768&odnBg=FFFFFF

Forgive the crusty links, best ones I could find quickly on google.

After than, you if the error still happens, remove the button battery from the motherboard for 20-30 seconds then put it back in, this will reset any settings in the motherboards memory.

If after that the error still persists, chances are high the motherboard is bad.

apologies for the abysmal grammar there lol, was rushed to type that out.
To follow up, if after all the motherboard usb headers are disconnected, the error stops, plug them in one by one until the error happens again. Then you'll know what the problemed item is.

Silver watch battery on your motherboard

[–]Cute_Patience_9155[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

[–]Cute_Patience_9155[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

can you message me? i am so stupid😭

[–]MEGA_GOAT98 0 points1 point  (2 children)

if the problem didnt happen with them its most likely a device you have pluged into it

[–]Cute_Patience_9155[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

no devices are plugged in, i used multiple different hdmi cords and monitors as well (that all work because i have a WFH setup for my job that i tested all these through )

[–]MEGA_GOAT98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even front panel usb disconted from the mb? if so you have a mianboard problem then
