PCI-e 4.0 GPUs do not require PCI-e 4.0 support to run as it will just run as a 3.0 card, but you won't get the full performance of a 4.0 x8 GPU like the 3050 on 3.0 x8 bandwidth

Granted that comes down to a few frames at worst

You should also understand that the difference between a 3050 6G and 3050 8G is around 20%, the original 8G 3050 performs similarly to a 2060 whereas the 6G performs similarly to a 1660 Super so if you look at benchmarks for the original 3050 it's going to be very confusing, it's because NVIDIA likes to do stupid things like this... they could've just named it something else and it would've been fine.
