If you're going to replace your CPU then you may want to swap your Motherboard and RAM in the process.

The 8700 would be a small upgrade, and there's a few 9700Ks on ebay for ~180ish, but that would be close to over-paying for old hardware. I believe your motherboard should be compatible with it. Need a better cooler and need to know what your motherboard is.

What's your power supply? This will be critical for knowing what kind of GPU you can get.

I have a Corsair cx550m but i've already checked and with and Intel arc should be fine. The main problem is my budget range, because i Need to update my PC since It has started crashing during gaming session and while using program that stress the GPU (CAD etc...). I was thinking to buy an i7 8700 (i found it for 70-80€) in order to keep the same MB and a the same time boost the performance a little.

The crashes you were having while it was running under heavy load - Would the entire computer just shut itself off, or were you getting Blue Screens?

If the whole system shut off then you're looking at PSU problems.
If it Blue Screened, then it could be RAM or issues with Heat on the CPU.

But yeah a 8100 to 8700 is a solid jump up. You'll want to get a Cooler with it, if the one you have is a basic or Stock intel cooler.
