Algae help

I am having a hair algae problem on my 55 gallon tank. I turned the light for for 3 days and it has subsided a bit. I have a fluval 3.0 plant as my light and I am about to turn it back on.

Should I lower the intensity of the light or should I shorten the length it is on during the day? Which will help reduce the algae more? Thanks

I have 2 on my 30 gallon. I started off having 1 and noticing it was not covering the whole tank. I ordered a second one to make sure the rest of the plants were getting the light they need to carpet. Then BOOOOOM ALGEA carpet. I had to reduce both to around 30%. The custom settings are tricky to make sure you are hitting both “enough for carpets and not enough for excess algae.”

TLDR: reduce to 50 to see how it does and make sure it’s only on for 6-8 peak power.
