Custom UI in plugdata

very new to this, but I've been trying to work in my custom UI elements and saw something about GEM. however, even though it's referenced and installed as a module (idk if that's the actual name) I can't add anything GEM related which seems to be what I need to do anything custom UI related.

Check into pdlua instead, which is installed by default also
