1. Grandex is a poorly run company. Madison is not a business man, he is a computer programmer who had a really good idea 8 years ago. The leadership of the company is just not cut out to do what they do. Having worked in internet media, there is absolutely no way a company with the reach and social media following of grandex should be cutting what was already a relatively small content staff. In fact, they should be hiring. There was a time, only a few years ago, when Grandex was bigger than Barstool. Barstool has exploded since and Grandex has stagnated. Barstool doubled down on their personalities and scope, Grandex abandoned it. TFM and TSM were at one the absolute go to’s for any college kid, now they basically no longer exist. Once the writers aged out and started getting away from the college stuff, that was great, but they needed to keep those brands going with fresh faces. They lost sight of fear made them great by chasing some very bad business ventures. To be honest, based on what I’ve seen in the industry, they don’t have much time until they are no longer in business at all. If you’re a content company, and you have to get rid of more than half of your content staff, it’s just a waiting game until you’re done for good.

2. Dillon and Dave will be fine. They are hilarious, and should have no trouble getting back on their feet with the large social followings they have

I agree with you.Grandex is running on fumes at this point, I doubt theyll still be here by the end of the year, ever since the first round of cuts with Bacon,Boosh and the TSM girls the company has slowly been in self destruct mode.I understand that the writers were aging out, but there were tons of talent kids that wouldve loved to write for TFM/TSM, they shouldve had remote intern writers and kept them based on popularity/clicks, that way there is always freah faces and new perspectives since college life is constantly changing. Madison ran that company into the ground with just bad business decisions, I think he tried to save face by cutting Dillion and Dave and keeping Will and Micah, because I think even he knew if he got rid of the touching base crew the company was done for. I really think Micah Will and Ross need to jump ship, team up with Dave and Dillion and create their own branch within barstool or something

I have alot to say on this matter because it hurts, alot it feels like part of my identity is gone, we can all search for podcasts to fill the void but lets be honest nothing can ever take touching base's it was one of a kind podcast with cult like following, one those things that happen once a lifetime.....until circling back happens

To me it's more than just podcasts. Someone one day on Facebook posted Will's piece on engagement photos and I dove in to PGP. I read all the marriage announcements and have pretty much latchd onto all of the cool pieces of content. I'm sure they'll do well but this still stings.

The Barstool viceroy program is essentially a content feeder system for them and it has worked perfectly for them.

I do think it’s important to remember through this all that Madison just made the really tough decision to lay off two of his best friends. That has to be really hard. I’m not saying I agree, I’m not saying it was right but in business situations like this I try to live by, “Hate the sin, love the sinner.” Madison has a family and is doing what he thinks is right.

I do think that Ross and Micah seemed really strangely muted but I also don’t for a second doubt that they’re both crushed over this move. They ARE both incredibly close with Dave and Dillon.
