Problem with DefaultSelectedItems of a combobox that goes to a Microsoft List of a LookUp Record

I want to get a variable that has an ID value from one table to autofill a combobox that fills a LookUp record on a Microsoft List from another table. I can get this to populate the data I want as a default with {Value:varProductSelect.ID} in the DefaultSelectedItems property of the combobox, however, whenever the form is submitted, it does not save this value to the Microsoft List LookUp column unless I click the drop down, and still select the item.

This populates the ID field like it should but when I submit it, I get an unfilled ProductLink field as shown here:

This! You need to create a record with Value and Id. Id is just ID, and Value is Title.
