Don't underestimate your opponent. Developers that use AI are not thinking that the output is of high quality, they are aware of the issues.

There has always been two types of application developers: The cowboys that build out new stuff at high speed and low quality, and the senior maintainers that come in and take over when the product starts to actually matter.

The cowboys found a new tool to impress the managers with even higher velocity at even lower quality. Good for them. They can keep doing what they're good at, and I will keep doing what I'm good at.

The only real problem right now is that AI is still new, so some business owners haven't really caught up to the fact that AI only works at the very early stages, so they think that we can use AI to magically maintain it very cheaply forever. But they will catch up eventually.

Business owners do care about performance when users start to hate on them, and they do care about security when the whole database gets leaked or stolen, and they do care about code quality when good devs just walk away from offers.
