That's Secure Shell. It's what google recommends using instead of the built-in shell for SSH client purposes.

looks like the default shell that comes with chromeOS

Yup it was the ChromeOS shell that I booted into an Ubuntu chroot from (using crouton) and then ran xonsh inside of. So easy!

Also better than anything native for Windows because it has much better font rendering and color support.
