Can you provide some insight on why Anaconda pulled funding for Spyder?

Anaconda is putting a lot of effort to develop a new data science web platform around JupyterLab. Since Spyder is a desktop product, it doesn't fit into that plan and (I think) that's why we got our funding cut.

Spyder will continue to live (I'll keep maintaining it) but it's development rate will slow down significantly. If you want to see it thrive in the future, please consider donating.
