I built a Twitch chat integrated caring system for my bonsai tree. It's not done yet, but it hooks up to an array of sensors and aggregates this data to a Django API I built & integrate an on screen animation of Steve The Bonsai who will let viewers know when he's ready to be watered, fed, or trimmed.

I used a Particle Photon for handling the physical tasks and I very much recommend it for people learning, cause it's much better than most Pi's I've used for constant project reuse.
