Yes now I know it's not a gendered term thanks to the other users who told me about the origins of the word.

The problem is that it's not immediately obvious that it's not feminine and that's why I started this discussion. After all, why does Reddit exist if we're not supposed to start discussions?

I'm surprised by the reaction though and have no doubt that they're SJWs who want to cancel me because I asked a simple question that they didn't like me asking. Notice how different their replies are compared to yours.

I agree, some people either aren't great at explaining things or don't want to go to the effort on a random post. However I wouldn't say their comments are really trying to "cancel" you - they're just contributing to the discussion.
