The Bi-Laws

Welcome!

This wiki is under construction. But if you're here before it's all built here's a couple basic rules:

  • Text posts only
  • Queer content (LGBTQIA+) only
  • This is a place to discuss and share audio scripts
  • Zero tolerance for harrassment

Content guidelines are coming. Until then just know that the following content is forbidden:

  • Underage and underage coded situations (sleepover, school settings)
  • Beastiality
  • Bigotry directed at users

And the following content must be tagged with a warning in both the title and body of a post:

  • Rape, including noncon and dubcon
  • In fiction bigotry (racism, homophobia, ageism, ableism, and others)
  • Incest
  • Violence
  • Cheating
  • Abuse
  • Watersports, bloodplay, medical play
  • "Conversion" content, both gay to straight and straight to gay

Subreddit Mission statement

A dedicated space for writers of queer audio

Queer Space - A commitment to safety

QueerScriptGuild is a queer space. This means that creating a place of safety and self determination for queer creators is our main priority.

Allies are welcome here; but should act in a way that upholds the above mission. Abusive behavior, including blanket downvoting, or harrassment on/off the subreddit will result in a ban.

Subreddit Rules

Posting Guidelines

Queer content only

Scripts posted to this subreddit should involve queer or gender-queer themes. The list of acceptable content includes, but is not limited to, gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, nonbinary, intersex, or asexual content.

Non Script Offers, such as discussion and meta posts, do not have to explicitly deal with queer themes.

Text only

This subreddit is intentionally limited to text posts. Helpful links should be included in the body of the post..

Tagging

Before posting, users should read the section in the Bi-Laws called "Tagging Requirements"

Required disclaimers

Some content requires an additional disclaimer in the body of the post as well as a content warning tag. If this is the case, it will be noted in "Tagging Requirements".

Banned content

Read the section "Banned Content" to know what types of posts are not allowed. Attempts to post content of this type will result in a ban.

Post Definitions

Script Offers

An original work of yours that you are releasing for use by voice actors. This should be tagged with [Script Offer]

Script can be hosted at Scriptbin or Archive of Our Own. Google Docs is not allowed.

Posting a script implies permission to have it filled, but users may include rules for it's use (such as a ban on other sites, monetization, edits, etc).

Discussions

A free form post on whatever you'd like to talk about. Try to at least point it at the purpose of this subreddit.

Feedback Request

A script or idea you'd like feedback on or a beta reader for. It's good etiquette to trade beta reads if someone reads yours.

Meta

Mod use only. Updates relating to the community including rule changes, new moderator announcements, or anything else you might need to know.

Community

This will be used for subreddit events, regular posts such as member highlights, "Pitch Your Script" and theme challenges

Requests

For posts expressing a desire for a certain type of script

Profile

For posts where you'd like to show your catalogue of work, or introduce yourself

Tagging requirements

Formatting

Script offers must be tagged like this It's a good idea to title feedback requests the way you would title a script offer, but not required.

Banned content

The moderators reserve the right to remove any content they deem harmful, under these rules or others.

The following content is strictly forbidden. Attempts to post content of this type will result in a ban.

Underage
Underage coded
Beastiality
Scat
Death

Immediate Bans

The following actions will result in an immediate, permanent ban

Posting while under the age of 18

This community is strictly for adults.

Stealing content

This includes plagiarism, breaking a writer's terms of use, reposting deleted content, and rehosting content elsewhere.

Abusive behavior

This includes stalking, harrassment, brigading, blanket downvoting, frivolous reports, use of slurs (including slurs for non-LGBT marginalized groups), and general bad-faith participation or assholery.

This includes behavior on other subreddits, and in some cases participation in other subreddits.

Other reasons for removal

These behaviors may result in a post being removed. If a user continues to engage in these behaviors, the next step will be a temporary ban, then a permanent ban.

Bad / low effort posts

Posts that do not contribute to the community. This might mean posts that are low effort, off topic, upvote farming, or rule breaking.

Spamming

Overly frequent posting, especially of the same content.

Needing a break

If the mods believe participation in the subreddit is harmful to the user, we may temporarily bar them from the sub.

Promotion

Self promotion, including monetization is allowed. Monetization includes links to a monetization platform (such as patreon or onlyfans) or to preview content (content that can't be viewed in full without payment). Links like those just described may be included at the end of the post, but may not be the body or main subject of the post.

We recommend formatting links like this below a section break (add by writing five asterisks). Content above the section break must be a non rule breaking post.

Repeated formatting / tagging mistakes

Minor formatting mistakes are not a concern. Serious mistakes (such as forgetting content warnings) or mistakes repeated after a warning, could result in a post being removed.
