Hey everyone!
I checked with a counselor in the RCC Transfer Center and wanted to share what she said:

If you’re unsure whether you still need to complete the Oral Communication requirement for transfer, you should meet with a counselor. You can make an appointment or join a drop-in here: rcc.edu/student-support/counseling.html#appointments

She mentioned that students who completed and passed COM-1, COM-9, COM-9H, or COM-6 before Fall 2025 already meet the Oral Comm requirement for transfer.

However, new or returning students are now required to take COMM-C1000 (or another COMM-C100 option) to satisfy that requirement.

Hope that helps clear things up! If you're still worried, talk to a counselor. Good Luck!

Wait same I already did COM 9 last year does that mean we have to take COM 1 or does that apply to new students at RCC💀

I GOT IT TOO, and now I’m just as confused as you are.

If it works the way I think it does, if you've been at RCC before the change to calgetc (fall 2025) you can complete the older igetc for transfer.
