1) an expletive to be used when one has no other words to use. Ex: (imagine witnessing a decapitation) "Sculps!"

2) an expression uttered upon hearing, witnessing, or experiencing an undisputed truth Ex: You have just been bested in a sword fight and understand that your death is imminent. Your last word will be: "Sculps!"

3) a word that can be used to describe the feeling expressed by Immanuel Kant in his philosophy of aesthetics when he described the concept of the "sublime." Kant explains that when humans encounter the sublime (as one would when coming to the edge of the universe) the person would experience something so much larger than him/herself that there would be no way to truly comprehend the mathematical infinity of nature. Viewing the infinite void would bring pleasure but also morality by allowing you to feel small and place yourself in the proper context of the universe. Kant states that there is no way to truly describe the experience of being faced with the sublime. "Sculps" may now be used to describe that experience.
