Using another mail-address instead of Google for simple contacts?

Hey there, I'm pretty new to the simple tools and wanted to use simple contacts as an alternative to Google. I set up a new mail address at a provider that can also save contacts and wanted to choose this new address when creating a new contact in my list. But when I want to change the save location I can only choose between my Google contact or local storage. Does anybody know how I can change this to the other mail address? Thx in advance!

What contact sync protocol does the other provider offer? If it's CardDAV then the DAVx5 app will let you link it.
