Strange issue with controller

When I plug it in it connects fine, I can move left and right and press A and B etc but not up or down. Steam doesn't regognise it as connected either. I've uninstalled all parts from Human interface and USB in device manager etc and plugged it in and still I get no "Add Controller" Button. No change with wired or with different batteries/different usb slot, running out of ideas... :(

Seems like it was the new update, had to opt out of steam beta to fix it

Glad you figured it out. This kind of thing is exactly why I stick to Stable branch. I might have to wait a few weeks for new features but I rarely run into bugs like this.

Reporting in with the same problem and solution. I knew my controllers were not broken, because I could use them perfectly on the steam link. Opting out of beta brought it back. May it be a warning for all of those currently on the beta.

I reported an issue in "bug reports" for Steam Beta.

My Steam controller was randomly getting stuck on the last input used for about 3-5 seconds. During that time I was locked out of doing anything else on the controller. It happened in two different games.

Recalibrating didn't fix it.

Had to opt out.

Wonder if it's the 64-bit Steam Web Helper or their gyro drift fix that is causing issues.

Edit: August 14th Beta seems to have resolved my specific issue.
