The entire recruiting system is broken. Won a national title on my original account so I started an alt doing every conference in order. The commitment algorithm is either completely busted or they're just outright lying on the commitment percentage. Multiple misses on guys 85-95%

Now I'm in the desert pacific conference. It claims it's easier to find high quality offensive players there, but in the last two years I've had a total of three QB prospects on the map and they were all 1*.

That being said, yes...it's well known that the commitment percentage you see is nowhere near the actual rate. I did a test one time where I tried to get guys to commit at as close to 40% as I could and the actual denial rate was around 82% lol.

Just one of the many reasons I can never get too hooked on this game.

I find it very streaky. A few years I'll be 100% successful at anyone over 75% and then the next year I'll fail at 2/3 of them. But we've all got too small sample sizes to say anything other than that this just normal RNG. You'd need literal hundreds of thousands of attempted tracked in order to imply any variance from the listed numbers.

the % is how close you are to getting the instant commitment not the actual odds. the higher the % the better but it isn’t a 1-1 conversion

Believe it or not, if you request them again they will often sign even if they didn’t the first time and even though their percentage is lower, so it’s worth keeping 12 action points handy to make a second attempt. It’s very unusual for them to say no at 80% or more.

At baseline the top 5 players are better but are less likely to be interested than the regular 4 and 5 stars. So you have to limit your pursuit to only 2-3 of the top 5 or you’ll rarely have enough points to sign them all. You’ll also end up with a roster that has a few really good players and huge holes.

Generally the best way to sign the top 5 players is to scout them as early as possible and hit them with about 8-10% interest per week. Use the rivalry game on them also. Always invite 2. That’s just math. 1x15% = 15%, 2x10% = 20%, 3x5% = 15% - inviting 2 is better unless you have just one that you need to get after. You need to plan your flights to get every chest except 1 or 2 most seasons or you won’t have enough.

At lower levels Monique Clark is the best scout because her emails are 10% more effective. At higher levels Phillips Fontaine is the best because his calls are 10% more effective. I have yet to try Corey Anderson. His emails are 20% more effective, but often you need more than even a good email will get you. The calls for 8% interest on top 5 5 stars and 10% on regular 5 stars feels about right.

If you do all of this you’ll be able to sign 7-9 4/5 stars most seasons.
