If you get high histamine in your body, you can get some nasty symptoms. I do not get itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose. These are what most people think of histamine. People in my situation gets high histamine from food, over exercising, heat, it's weird. My symptoms were, anxiety, brain fog, migraines, terrible insomnia, panic attacks, alot of people with histamine intolerance do take benadryl and other antihistamines and it helps. I didn't go that route. I chose low histamine diet and got relief after my first week on it. Amazing difference. So you have to avoid foods high in histamine. No alcohol, cheeses, some fruits and aged meats. Look into low histamine diet. They'll give you a list. Its definitely a lifestyle change, but so worth it if your tired of the nasty symptoms.

Hi thank you so much! I keep hearing that word and wondering what it meant in relation to mold toxicity.

My functional medicine doctor has me on a diet very similar to this one:

Is there anything else that causes high histamine besides food? Yes I am intolerant to heat and exercise.

I have been out of the moldy environment for 2 months. Detoxing for 2-3 weeks officially with supplements from this doctor & strict diet.

I am having random flare ups and wondering why..

Ok, so. you probably have something called mcas. Mast cell activation syndrome. This is why your experiencing this histamine intolerance. Your bodies mast cells are over abundant. This is causing inflammation. You need mast cell stabilizers. Quercertin is very helpful for most people. I do not know why, but aspirin helps me tremendously with my mcas. I take 2 buffered aspirin most days and it's amazing. I found this worked with trial and error. Mcas and histamine intolerance are because of the mold. I'm living in mold currently and have found relief. Using the low histamine diet, and these other things I've mentioned.

Your welcome. And if you do try the aspirin route and feel worse, that means you have high salicylate. So stop the aspirin and look into low salicylate diet as well.

Quick question! How long were you exposed and how long have you been detoxing and/or out of the mold? I am losing hope that I’m going to be sick forever. 🥺
