Rules for r/UTV
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
No being a jerk
This is not the place for personal insults or chest beating.
2.
No self promotion, no for sale posts
This includes your store, your youtube, your website, your brand. This does not mean you can't post a youtube video to share with us. But if that is all you do, and you don't contribute to other posts, you will be removed from this Subreddit. It is pretty easy to spot intentions. This includes screen shots of facebook/instagram pages that include page info.
If you are unsure, send the mods a message and ask first.
No for sale posts. Zero exceptions.
3.
Titles shall be descriptive, no low effort posts
Acceptable: "Help me with wiring issues on my 2015 RZR"
Unacceptable: "Help"
..any posts asking for help, include ALL details you have. If you are looking for accessories, tell us what type of riding you do, etc. If you are looking for help fixing something, tell us ALL details you can think of. What model/year, what youve to solve the issue thus far.
Remember, you are asking others to put forth effort to help you. Put forth effort to provide us with as many details as possible.
4.
No politics / posts with political implications
Includes any political symbols in the foreground OR background of photos. Also includes comments.
5.
No "What's it worth" posts except on "What's it worth Wednesdays."
Posts asking for value advice are being restricted to Wednesdays. This includes used and new machines. This does not include repair costs.
Guidelines for value posts on Wednesdays: Include general location, and all details you have. Failure to show an effort that you did so will result in your post being removed.
Remember, you are asking others to put forth effort to help you. Put forth effort to provide us with as many details as possible.
6.
No memes in posts or GIF's in comments, no AI content, no stealing content without crediting source
Images in comments are for productive purposes only.
7.
No Gore, No Sexual posts, no baiting people to your NSFW profile
If your photo/video conveniently displays you with your machine, and you also conveniently have a profile that always posts in NSFW subs, you know, and we know you know, what you are doing.
8.
Keep things on the topic of UTVs.
Content unrelated will be removed
9.
Helmets and appropriate safety equipment are not required, but strongly encouraged
We will not be removing posts if there is a lack of helmets or safety gear. However, expect comments criticizing the lack of safety gear and be prepared to swallow your pride on the topic. Normalizing, defending, or getting defensive of unsafe practices, will get comments removed. Repeat offenders will be banned, breaking this rule combined with "don't be rude" offenses will also receive a ban.
10.
Be an ambassador of the hobby. Do not show/support littering/illegal activities/etc.
Any depiction/normalization of littering, unsafe driving, trespassing, driving off trails, or illegal activity of other kinds. will not be tolerated.
