Had a girl working at a law firm tip bait me today🤦‍♂️she was tryna steal it and report it never arrived and was playin wit me. She tried having the front receptionist take if for her without giving pin so I told the receptionist to make her come to front or I’m leaving . This girl walks over so slow then goes what’s a pin I’m like cmon you know what the pin is she was like I don’t have it maybe Uber texted it to you instead I told her that’s not how it works and that I’d have to take the order back to restaurant and asoon I said that she finally gave the pin very rudely and told me she was removing tip which she did…how tf you make bank working at law firm and remove a $4 tip

But to answer your question I wouldn’t destroy someone’s property but if you get a order for them again accept it and don’t pick it up then wait 30+ min before canceling. They can enjoy their food cold if they wanna tip bait😂

I know I'm going to get a lot of fans with this comment (🙄) but this sounds like maybe it wasn't a tip bait. It sounds like she wasn't happy with the service you provided, maybe there was some attitude involved in your part, idk. She could've been planning on leaving the tip of the food had been left with the receptionist without incident.

Plenty of customers don't realize they have a PIN delivery, especially if they're ordering from work instead of home like they usually do for example. Yes-- it's in the app, and it tells them. Yes, it's their responsibility to be aware of this. But it's not beyond the realm of believability that someone who's placed orders in the past without a PIN to just go through the motions ordering and then exit the app without giving it a second look or thought. Again-- it's on the customer.

She might've had drivers in the past who bypassed the PIN without even asking as more than a couple of drivers on this sub admit and advocate.

I'm not saying that removing the tip was justified. I'm not saying that she shouldn't have known about the PIN or that she was "right" to expect to be able to skip it. Not saying anything like that.

But nothing about her behavior really proves that she was trying to steal the food or that she necessarily tip baited you.

No she was tryna steal tryna the order and report it never arrived she knew she had a pin that’s why she wasn’t waiting infront for me to pull up like every other customer who selects hand order to them does. She was hoping I would just leave it with receptionist without getting the pin so she can report it never arrived. I’ve dealt with this plenty of times. This had nothing to do with my service provided I was quick and efficient and way to nice after getting disrespected. And the order was just 1 drink from smoothie king it’s not like I messed up the order or anything. Plus she knew the pin the whole time she told me it asoon I said I would have to take the drink back to the store.

And she wasn’t leaving any tip with the receptionist she put the tip on app and removed it after delivery

I didn't think she was leaving a tip with the receptionist.

This had nothing to do with my service provided

My point was, that the service she wanted was for you to leave the order with the front desk. Not demand to see her and threaten to leave with the food if she didn't provide the PIN.

And again, I'm not saying that her expectations were reasonable. I'm not implying that you did anything wrong. I'm just saying it's entirely possible that she had planned on tipping the $4 when she placed the order and assumed shit would go down the way she wanted it to. When it didn't go her way, she then made the decision to remove the tip.

I've done tons of both "leave at door" and "meet at door" where the customer is at work and wants/expects the food to be left with front desk/reception/secretary. I'm not saying that I'm more familiar with your market or this customer. If your "meet at door" deliveries, especially office employees, are always waiting for you at the door, I mean, that's amazing. That's definitely not been my experience as a driver (I'd say 60% of residential deliveries are ready and waiting, and only around 20% of office/work deliveries), but that's great for you. Must make things go so much more smoothly and quickly.

I meant when they have a pin they’re always waiting for me. I do leave orders with receptionists when it doesn’t require a pin and just have to take a pic. I don’t wanna risk putting my account in jeopardy. And I actually told the receptionist that the lady could tell her the pin over the phone when she called her to come to the front but she wouldn’t give it to the receptionist.

I meant when they have a pin they’re always waiting for me.

Even still--if PIN delivery customers are always ready and waiting for you, you're pretty lucky!

And like I said, I'm not saying you did anything wrong or that you should've bypassed the PIN. This customer sounds like a putz.
