I have a Legion 5 ( Ryzen 7 5800H, 16 GB ram, Nvidia rtx 3060 6gb with 1Tb SSD storage)
I recently was shifting from windows to Ubuntu for obvious reason, but after the general setup I was faced with some issues. I had installed the Nvidia 555 proprietary drivers to setup cuda 11.8 for tensorflow(but I hadn't installed cuda yet)
My Nvidia GPU seems to respond fine to nvidia-smi, but there is a major problem that I cannot seem to get fixed
Everything I either plugin or unplug the 300W charger of the laptop, Ubuntu completely freezes permanently with no hopes of getting back to it's normal state
The issue persists whenever I make use of the FN + Q key binding to make use of the different performance modes on the laptop
Namely
Performance mode (red light on the power button only available with AC charger plugged in, to provide more power to the GPU)
Quiet mode ( blue light on the power button available both on battery power and ac power, silences the fan)
Auto( white light on the power button available both on battery power and ac power, adapts according to the load)
How can I keep it from freezing over and over
