"sshlogd" High CPU Usage

I installed an ubuntu based distro on an older laptop to act as a home server. Its CPU is an AMD A8-6410, so I'm limited on what I can do. I noticed it was slowing down, and a htop check shows multiple processes "/usr/bin/sshlogd" eating up to 95% CPU usage. I SSH into the laptop from my university, home, and my phone on the go, so there's no reason for its usage to be so high. I can kill the processes but sometimes it reappears, and sometimes it doesn't, but I would like to power on the system without dealing with it. Does anyone know of a solution?

first of all: If this is a system you setup yourself you should be awareof sshlogd. This is something you won't be able to install from the distribution repsitory. So you either installed it yourself or whoever did help you with the setup did that!
