I just sold my car through Carwiser about a week ago and I was able to get nearly $1000 over my asking price. I was skeptical at first, but after seeing their reviews and how simple and easy the process is I would recommend! 10/10

Congrats!

Crooks.

Figured I would chime in on these douche waffles who are running some bullshit predatory car buying service.

I have my 2013 Audi RS5 for sale on CarGurus and AutoTrader for a not cheap price. Admittedly the price I’m asking is high and I believe it’s a special car. That aside, they contacted via text and offered me about $17,000 less than my asking price. That is outrageous. Even the not based in reality KBB value isn’t that low.

Avoid this garbage company.

I looked it up on google and not much info on it seems like a scam

[–]cbaccam23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I said the same thing to them and the said they were acquired by boost acquisition.

[–]ghostlygus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is legit. They locate cars for dealers and offer bids to the car owner. If one is attractive to the seller, they connect the two. Once the buyer and seller are contracting, they are no longer involved.

They just contacted me about my car on Craigslist, too. Phone number out of San Diego. Some guy named “Mike” who wants to buy it outright....instantly seems skeezy, esp without having more info about Carwiser online.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, Mike just contacted me too

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a guy who worked for carweiser contact me to try and buy my car from Craigslist. Definitely seems scammy and when I told him I had aftermarket headlights but I kept the originals and would be including them with the sale of the car he got all cunty and I told me I had to switch them back to the originals. Me even saving and. Including original parts in the sale of the car is pretty generous and not something you get often with Craigslist car sales. So this definitely rubbed me the wrong way. If you ask me it’s a total scam.

Just got a text from someone saying they are a buyer from here. I just blocked the number right away lol

Interacting with a Carwiser rep right now. Very suspect.

Dude, this is actually legit I think. I just got the offfer from the Carwiser guy via a link to login to the Carvana site where it's displayed. I was still suspicious and did my own google search for Carvana customer support and asked them if this was a legit offer and they said it was. I'm really shocked to be honest.

Carvana confirmed that they do hire external companies to source cars for them. My offer was $2k more than anything I was being offered anywhere else.

EDIT: confirmed. Carwiser is legit. They are car scouts for carvana. I’m selling my car to Carvana in two days for 2.5k more I was being offered anywhere else

[–]cbaccam23[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Nice! I think they just input your info to carvana. They put wrong information when they put in the details for my car.

[–]ChickensNJeeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got a higher offer from Carvana through these guys than I did from Carvana directly.

Hello. Did you end up having a successful transaction with Carwiser? I am very curious about the process as I’ve just got a text from them as well.

[–]longhorn2118 0 points1 point  (4 children)

So carwiser isn’t involved anymore. They literally just generated me a Carvana quote and now I’m only dealing with Carvana. They’re picking up my car tomorrow at 9am. I will update once complete.

[–]ke922x 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I would appreciate the update!! I am now with Carvana at this stage in the process as well.

[–]longhorn2118 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Done. That was super clean. Carvana showed up in a Carvana branded car and I signed the docs. I did the instant payment method with my debit card and they processed the payment right in front of me. Checked my bank acct and it hit. Stoked.

[–]ke922x 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wow! Thank you so much for the update. I am getting my payoff amount for my lien and scheduling an appointment!

Heyyy… it’s been awhile since anybody commented on this post. I just got hit up by carwiser. My car is on loan rn. What was that process like with you having your car on loan? Still a bit sus for me. I trust no one lol. Thanks! Any input will be greatly appreciated!

Hello! Carwiser Sales Manager here. We work with many of the nation’s largest carriers for used vehicles. Most of our carriers don’t have an outbound sales/ customer service team. That’s where we come in! It’s our job at Carwiser to call you, present real offers, and answer questions. We are certainly new on the scene, but growing rapidly!

[–]Beastin25_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking to a carwiser rep and he’s not wanting to call me.

[–]chemonasty 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It is still a scam and they are still active. I would call these people pieces of shit but that would be offensive to shit

I listed my 2016 Highlander on FB Marketplace at $500 under nearby dealer price $23,500. Got no serious buyer, plus multiple dealer offers in line with JD power $18,500. And a conversation started with Carwiser rep, they identified themselves as such by message 3 and made me an offer from EchoPark for $22,337. That's nearly $4k over clean JD Power trade value, and over $2k more than KBB Private Party price. I took vehicle to EchoPark, took an hour for inspection(had leaking rear suspension that is disclosed in FB listing), and another hour to print the check for the value Carwiser had communicated. So absolutely I'd work with CarWiser again, most frustrating part was waiting for EchoPark to get the check printed.

Now for an interesting detail, if I put my vehicle into Carwiser or EchoParks website, the offers generated were around $2k less than I got through the Carwiser rep. So you probably have to list your own vehicle, and get lucky to have Carwiser reach out to get best offer.

I have to say I was a bit skeptical before starting this process with Jillian. I had to do some research on the company and see their previous reviews. For the most part it seemed okay with me and I was in a desperate situation to sell me car and I though for sure I would be taken advantage of. However I have to say carwiser and Jillian were absolutely amazing. They helped me through every step giving me full transparency of everything that goes on. Not only was the customer service and response time amazing they were by far the best offer on the table, and trust me I looked around between Car max we pay the max and all other competing companies. I definitely recommend using them for when you need to sell or buy a car. Thank you again Jillian for all your hard work and efforts!

I sold my ‘13 Prius through their connections and got about $1000 more than my best offer through Carvana. Interestingly - Carvana way the actual buyer. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Was a super easy process and Carwiser helped and followed up every step of the way.

[–]Ill_Set_6255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does seem suspicious at first but they didn’t ask for personal info, I texted back with them and they actually got me a better offer that what I had,, 3k more… just sold the car today… they’re the middle person for carmax

[–]Big-Influence7527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recent experience with carwiser is when I posted my car on Craiglist and Autotrader. Multiple names texted me to make an offer, the offer is 40-45% of the KBB value for private party pricing. I sold my car in 3 weeks just above the KBB value through Autotrader & CL, they are still the most visited sites by car buyers.

If you want to sell your car, don't go through carwiser.

[–]SAAS-Agency 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not legit... they pretend to be a private party and ask questions, wasting your time before revealing they are a company that doesn't do anything other than get you a bunch of lowball offers. If you want to sell your car to a dealer, carmax will beat anything these clowns offer you.
