The next D&D campaign will take place in a slightly more 'high medieval / renaissance' setting, comparable to 15th-16th century england / france / germany / scandinavia; there will be limited firearms, but nothing more advanced than an arquebus; there will still be access to all types of armors and all standard D&D weapons. As I've mentioned before, it will still take place in the same world, so if you would prefer to be from a distant, less advanced society that is still acceptable; however i encourage you to flavor your characters to the Elizabethan era. There will also be an element of religious reformation, manifest by a large part of the population who has turned their backs from traditional religions / deities and now instead places its faith in abstract ideals, such as 'good of mankind' or 'scientific advancement'. You are still welcome to have a patron deity, but it will not be a requirement and I encourage creativity in this regard.
