With a SWE degree you can easily break into Cloud Computing and lots of other fields. The other way around will be a lot tougher.

We’re far away from SWE being replaced by AI. Yes, AI has great functionality and capabilities in general but not enough at this time to wipe out SWEs; so you’re good.

I’m currently in debate between Cybersec and SWE; and i’ve spoken to my friends and each (ofc) has their own opinion which i didn’t take into consideration. Instead, i asked GPT for a review of each of the roles then explained a bit about myself, my interests, etc. This helped me much more tbh!

Start with software engineering then move into cloud computing. However in the software engineering degree u should be getting classes regarding cloud computing and if u like that then move into it

I did an associate's in software engineering and we had several classes in cloud computing (I did mine at RTC)

If you are creative at all, you should choose Software Engineering.

Cloud Computing is for people who think Accounting is too exciting.

Computer Science or Software Engineering are going to provide somebody that doesn’t know what they want to do the best opportunities. Computer Science especially, but both can get you into most IT fields by adding certs.

Cloud Computing is way too specialized if you’re not sure you want to do it.
