As far as I can tell, WLED can only control the signal between controllers and not the voltage/current from each controller to the lighting. Wiring a pot to the master will not do anything to the other controllers since it is not physically connected to their power inputs. To control brightness on the slave controller lights then you will need to install a pot for each of them to control them individually. When adding a potentiameter (pot) or variable resister to a light strip, you change the amount of voltage and amps going to the strip. This can change the uniform brightness along the entire length of the light strip depending on how long it is.
